We partnered with Striking Distance Studios, a game developer built by industry veterans, to create the brand identity for The Callisto Protocol, their first AAA game – which gave us the rare opportunity to introduce their distinct brand of shock and awe into the world.
We opted to emphasize “Callisto” in the visual hierarchy, opening the door for future properties to also be set in this terrifying world. The graphic design focused on the science fiction aspect of the game, allowing horror to come through via the game art and background imagery.
With The Callisto Protocol, Striking Distance Studios was set to expand beyond the battle royale genre of gameplay and lay the foundation for their universe of sci-fi horror.
Every horror show has rules, and following the guide is essential for survival. We built a robust design system with guidance to help SDS’s partners be the last ones standing.
