for the Metaverse
To celebrate the future of football, Nike tasked Skylight with creating a custom tournament in NIKELAND on Roblox.
Working closely with the Nike Brand Experience and Nike Kids teams, we designed the NIKELAND Cup Clash. Then, to launch the game, we created the global campaign assets to invite players in.
The result was a truly global event, with hundreds of thousands of players that flocked to the event and earned nearly a million virtual products.
We reimagined football for a Roblox audience, creating the NIKELAND Cup Clash—twelve players, everyone vs. everyone over three rounds of pure football chaos. To strengthen our community, we added a “Fan Mode” where players could earn new gear by cheering on the game.
Imagining the Footballverse
Once we had the gameplay figured out, we turned to designing the look and feel of the Footballverse—dreaming up NPC mascots, creating concept sketches for the Cup Clash stadium, architecting the player journey, and pulling it together into the ultimate player experience.

To launch our campaign, not only did we develop 10 custom characters that could live in the NIKELAND Footballverse, we brought them to life across social assets, out of home placements for NYC, LA, and Amsterdam, and a gameplay trailer to launch the experience.
