We share Xbox’s genuine commitment to DEI, and were thrilled to partner with them to showcase the unique voices and perspectives of the grassroots communities that make up the broader “Gaming For Everyone” community at Xbox.
The Gaming For Everyone community is dedicated to championing a growth mindset that challenges and empowers the broader Microsoft culture on what it means to be inclusive. G4E is made up of 5 unique groups, and is always growing. For this identity, we partnered with Blacks at Xbox, Women in Gaming, Team Xbox LGBTQIA, Team Xbox LatinX, and Gaming and Accessibility.
Our goal was to authentically showcase each group that contributes to making the magic happen at Xbox, and to drive deeper understanding, recruitment and purposeful engagement within the organization as a whole.
Diversity and Inclusive work is very delicate and requires openness, mindfulness, passion, and dedication. Team Skylight has these skills.
Through a series of strategic interviews and hands-on working sessions, we identified the unique mindsets, perspectives and aesthetics of each group. Using their powerful internal message, “nothing about us without us” as a guide, we identified artists who represented the values and perspectives of each community. It was an honor to partner with Richie Pope, Erin Nations, Olivia Fields, Alyssa Alarcon Santo, and Xoana Herrera to create the key art that would become central to each group’s identity. To further create a sense of community, connection and belonging, we incorporated the likenesses of individuals that we’d met at Xbox, into each piece of key art, and then built a holistic system using a set of colors from the Microsoft brand palette.
