A Bold Identity for an Epic Adventure
Following our partnership with Xbox and Obsidian on Pentiment, we were thrilled to partner with these teams again on their next great game, Avowed. We were asked to bring the same level of strategic thinking, category-expanding conceptual work and artistry to the project, and to create a vis ID that would truly stand out at retail. We worked closely with the Xbox and Obsidian teams to develop the name, logo, key art, and full identity toolkit for Avowed.
Reaching Beyond the Niche
With Avowed, Xbox and Obsidian aim to both engage core audiences and invite new players into the world of Pillars of Eternity. Our work on the name and visual identity needed to walk that line, integrating recognizable elements from the universe to excite the core, while leveraging stylistic and compositional approaches to stand out in the marketplace and engage the broader gaming community.
Bring the Lore to Life
Logo
Born of organic, flowing letterforms, and built from magical Adra stone, our team brought key themes and materials from Avowed to life in our set of custom logos to stand alone, or to nest seamlessly into our key art.
Xbox Showcase
Once the visual identity was completed, our team extended the core elements to create a toolkit of assets for Xbox’s marketing teams and partners to leverage across all their channels.
Key Art Style
The Living Lands of Avowed are a magical frontier ready to explore. To inform the finishing approach of the key art, our team explored classic field guides and botanical art styles to imbue the art with the same sense of adventure and wonder.
